Mourinho refuses to rule out Matic move

"I can't say any word about a player who is a Chelsea player", said Mourinho.

Mourinho has revealed United pulled out of a deal to sign Alvaro Morata because they failed to agree a transfer fee with Real Madrid, according to the Manchester Evening News.

Manchester United are preparing for a return to the Champions League next season after the Red Devils won the Europa League in Mourinho's first campaign in charge at the club.

"Matic is a Chelsea player and I have to respect the player, the club and the club owner".

"We don't have our door closed".

"We're not happy with just Lukaku and Lindelof".

He said: "Possible, it's open, of course we wanted to be honest and open and let everything for him to make the decision". I would not like to be in Ed Woodward's position in negotiations because it's really hard.

Manchester United legend Denis Irwin says Luke Shaw really faces a crunch season if he wants to stay.

Rojo is due to be fit by the end of September after initially being told that he could be out of action until the end of the year. "Personally, if I had to play one man up top and I was a United fan, I would go [with] Rashford". I cannot criticise Real Madrid and I can not criticise my club.

"We have had interest (in Morata)".

The Red Devils will also be hoping to mount a serious title challenge next term after they finished sixth in the Premier League table. Negotiations with Real Madrid for the Spanish striker were stopped immediately after Ed Woodward reached an agreement with Everton for Lukaku. But why not wait for a player who gave us so much.
