Such was the case last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Because Kimmel did not show up to the party in person, he asked Rubin to come onto the show Thursday via video chat - except he wasn't the only Jewish man to make a surprise appearance.
It was all very charming, but at least one person was mystified by Will's idolization of Kimmel: Jon Stewart.
Will Rubin, a 13-year-old who lives in Media, decided to make late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel the focus of his ceremony, complete with a set mimicking the stage of Jimmy Kimmel Live!
As Will and Kimmel yukked it up, the former "Daily Show" host appeared, wearing his off-duty ensemble of jeans, faded T-shirt and stubble, and confronted Will about throwing a bar mitzvah inspired by a gentile. "And I'm a Jew". Since Kimmel couldn't go to Pennsylvania for the celebration, he sent an ice sculpture shaped after his security guard sidekick, Guillermo, as well as a taped message for Will Rubin. "Will, wouldn't you rather idolize a talk show host who is also circumcised?"
Kimmel can only stand there and laugh as Stewart continues to convince the kid not to trust him. Will, don't be fooled by [Kimmel's] learned-looking beard and his sad, puffy eyes. "You probably had your choice idolizing any talk show host and you could have gone with a Jew is what I am saying". He's not rabbinical; he's just unhealthy. Will, I don't know how to put this. How do kids say it?
You never know where you'll see Stewart popping up next!
