White is Georgia's seventh commitment in a class that was underwhelming until Tuesday.
White, the nation's top running back, announced his commitment to Georgia on Tuesday afternoon. He's also been compared favorably to another North Carolina native that all Georgia fans know well - Todd Gurley.
White is Georgia's highest rated running back in the Rivals era, and the Georgia coaching staff, primarily Kirby Smart and Dell McGee, made sure that White knew he was the top priority on the offensive side of the ball since their arrival to Athens.
With the commitment of Zamir White, the Georgia Bulldogs now have a total of seven recruits for the class of 2018.
"There's not much White doesn't do at a very high level", says Scout recruiting analyst Micheal Clarke.
The 6-foot-1, 225-pounder has averaged more than 8.5 yards per rushing attempt in his high school career.
Last year, White ran 175 times for 1,693 yards and 26 touchdowns. He's the first Top 100 or Top 50 or Top 10 recruit for this cycle. That includes the likes of Clemson, Alabama, Ohio State and North Carolina, his other finalists. But even if he falls short of an instant impact of that magnitude, White should figure prominently in Georgia's plans to replace Chubb and Michel.
